Michael Carter-Williams has rejoined the 76ers, though his availability in Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers and their upcoming two-game road trip is uncertain.

Carter-Williams was released from the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania Sunday, after being admitted Thursday with an infection on the front of his right knee. He was treated there by UPenn's infectious disease specialist Neil Fishman and Sixers team physician Brian Sennett. The injury stemmed from contact with another player Dec. 1 at Detroit.

It's unlikely he'd be available Monday against the Clippers.

For now, the 21-year-old Carter-Williams is on oral antibiotics. The Sixers are waiting for the soreness in the knee to go down before they consider re-inserting the point guard into the lineup. 

Carter-Williams, the 11^th overall pick in the 2013 draft, is averaging 17.7 points, 7.3 assists and 5.8 rebounds for the Sixers (7-14), who have lost 10 of 12 games overall and five of the six the rookie has missed this season.

A Sixers spokesman said Carter-Williams, who is with the team at Monday’s shootaround at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, is hoping to travel with the team for Wednesday’s game at Minnesota and Friday’s in Toronto. But no official decision has been made.

Carter-Williams is expected to speak to reporters following shootaround.
