The 76ers have agreed to terms with assistant coach Chad Iske, according to a report by Yahoo! Sports, adding a second assistant to Brett Brown’s staff.

Iske, who previously coached with the Denver Nuggets, is regarded as a player-development coach who also lends a hand in game-to-game preparation. He’s Brown’s latest coaching-staff addition, joining Memphis assistant Lloyd Pierce, who the Sixers hired Aug. 25.

Hired as the Sixers’ coach Aug. 14, Brown had said he’d like to have his coaching staff in place before the start of September.

The 76ers' D-League affiliate, the Delaware 87ers, acquired the rights to 16 players Thursday via the D-League Expansion Draft, including one with local ties.

Temple product Ramone Moore is among the players picked up by the 87ers, who will begin their first season in the NBA's D-League this season.

Every D-League team was able to protect the rights to a dozen players and, from the unprotected players, the Sevens were allowed to pluck players. However, the Sevens were limited to two players per D-League team. And of the 16 taken by the Sevens, seven have played in the NBA.

76ers first-year coach Brett Brown has added personnel to his staff.

The Sixers agreed to terms Sunday with Memphis assistant coach Lloyd Pierce, a league source told the Daily Times. The agreement with Pierce was first reported by Yahoo! Sports.

Pierce becomes the first member of Brown’s coaching staff. Earlier this summer, Pierce’s name was bandied about as one of the Sixers’ targeted candidates to fill their head coaching vacancy. Those reports never really panned out, and Pierce’s name faded out of the rumor mill, though it’s apparent the Sixers had their eyes on Pierce all along.

Brown was hired Aug. 21 by Sixers general manager Sam Hinkie. A day later, he cleaned house and dismissed the holdovers from previous coach Doug Collins’ regime, including associate head coach Michael Curry. At his introductory press conference, Brown said he hoped to have a complimentary coaching staff in place before the end of the month. Hiring Pierce would be a step toward reaching that goal.

Pierce, regarded around the league as an assistant coach on the rise, worked with the Grizzlies from 2011-13. Prior to joining Memphis, he was an assistant at Golden State for one season and a player-development coordinator with Cleveland for three seasons before that.

The 76ers acquired shooting guard Tony Wroten from Memphis Thursday night in exchange for future draft considerations.

It's believed the Sixers sent a top-50-protected,
second-round pick in the 2014 NBA draft to the Grizzlies in return for Wroten, a 20-year-old who was the 25th overall selection in the 2012 draft.

Wroten played in 35 regular-season games and logged time in six more in the playoffs with Memphis, which made the Western Conference Finals. He averaged 7.8 minutes, 2.6 points and 1.2 assists per appearance, while shooting 38 percent overall.

Most of Wroten's season was spent with Reno, of the NBA Development League.

The trade is pending the completion and passing of a physical.

Projected to have one of the youngest starting lineups in the NBA, the 76ers aren't going to be granted any favors during the 2013-14 season – beginning with their opening-night opponent.

The Sixers will open the season Oct. 30 at Wells Fargo Center against LeBron James and the two-time defending champion Miami Heat. League-wide, the NBA released schedules for all teams Tuesday night.

Aside from Miami, another gem of a game comes only a few days later, when Cleveland and former Sixers bench staple Andrew Bynum play the front-end of a home-and-home series in South Philly Nov. 8. Bynum and Co. make a repeat trip to town Feb. 18.

Other highlights to the home portion of the Sixers' schedule include:
Jrue Holiday's first game at Wells Fargo in a visiting team's colors, when New Orleans visits Nov. 29; Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce with division rival Brooklyn Dec. 20, the Sixers' final home game before their annual lengthy holiday road trip; Miami's return and final appearance in Philly Jan. 17; and Oklahoma City and the Los Angeles Lakers making weekend trips, Jan. 25 and Feb. 7, respectively.

The 76ers will host the Boston Celtics at the University of the Delaware's Bob Carpenter Center in a Friday, Oct. 11 preseason game, the team announced Friday.

The Carpenter Center is the home of the Sixers' new D-League affiliate, the Delaware 87ers.

"We're thrilled to welcome the Sixers to campus for a preseason game," UDel president Patrick Harker said in a statement.

"This game is about the Sixers' and the Sevens' continued commitment to Delaware and the great basketball fans across the state," Sixers CEO Scott O'Neil said in the release.

The remainder of the Sixers' preseason slate has yet to be unveiled. Their regular-season schedule will come out Tuesday, when the NBA releases the schedules for all 30 teams.
