RICHARDSON OUT WITH ANKLE SPRAIN

(Associated Press)
The 76ers' Jason Richardson has left Sunday's game at Madison Square Garden with a left ankle sprain, the team announced.

Richardson, who started at shooting guard, exited with 10:13 remaining in the first quarter. After watching replay, it looked as though Richardson did one of two things: He either landed awkwardly after attempting a shot, or he tripped on a photographer on his third step following the layup.

Richardson, hobbling, took a few steps in a bid to shake off the injury before being subbed out for Nick Young. It was then that the 11-year veteran was taken back to the locker room for further treatment.

The Sixers trailed the Knicks, 57-44, at half. More on Richardson and the game afterward.
